Apart from allowing you to open and read PDF files, Free PDF Reader also lets you view EPUB, MOBI, DjVu, XPS, and comic files, such as CBZ and CBR. The program comes with a simple and easy-to-use interface with some basic editing functions that will let you manipulate the pages of a document in an intuitive way.
Wrapped up in a minimalist interface, this free tool offers you a clean environment where you can read and view any of the supported files. The controls provided are mainly devoted to navigating the PDF file forwards and backwards, to the previous and the next page, to the first and the last page, or to a specific page number. On the left-hand side you will find a panel with links to all the pages in the document or, when present, to the bookmarks in the file.
When it comes to editing or manipulating the PDF file in any way, the possibilities are limited to rotating the pages counter- and clockwise. You can use the zoom to enlarge a portion of the text, take a snapshot of a page or a selected section, or copy a portion of text to the clipboard to use it in a different app.
Designed as a showcase for the Pro version, which includes a wide variety of editing features and functions, Free PDF Reader is but a convenient document viewer. Actually, if you’re not interested in upgrading, there are many other free PDF reading tools that offer at least the same functionality as this tool does, such as those developed by the inventors of PDF, i.e., Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Digital Editions.
